After the 1st French round in Croix-en-Ternois, the Camathias Cup circus head to Cadwell Park, in Lincolnshire (England), on the 10-11 May. The weather conditions were horrendous with heavy showers and storms, in addition of cold temperature.
After a free practice on Saturday morning which see Lewis/Bar getting the quickest lap time, 4 races were scheduled over the weekend.
The first race see the victory of Quirk/Quirk, on their Vincent in the over 750cc class, and Wright/Clarke, on their BMW in the 750cc class. Lewis/Reid and Noel/Perion completed the over 750cc podium. Williams/Weston and Vermeijmeren/Van den Bor completed the 750cc podium. Lewis/Bar pulled out in warm up lap with engine problems. Hawes/Bedford pulled out after 1 lap due to flat battery.
Race 2 see the overall victory of Wright/Clark on their 750cc BMW in front of Quirk/Quirk on their Vincent 1272. The podiums remain the same as race 1 within class. Pietu/Pietu were non-starters due to back tyre puncture.
Sunday morning, Lewis/Bar are back in action, thanks to Dick Hawes. Race 3, under heavy rain, see Lewis/Bar winning the 750cc class on Dick’s BMW in front Wright/Clarke and Williams/Beston. In the over 750cc class, Quirk/Quirk won in front of Lewis/Reid and Noel/Perion.
Race 4 was held on drying conditions. In the over 750cc class, Quirk/Quirk won again in front of Lewis/Reid. Noel/Perion were non-starters as they had to head back to France to catch their boat. In the 750cc class, Wright/Clarke won in front of Williams/Beston and Vermeijmeren/Van den Bor. Lewis/Bar went off at the mountain in lap 1. We are happy to announce they’re both ok.
After this great time at Cadwell Park, the circus will head to the Pre-tt races on the Isle of Man (22-26 May)
