Extra round at Mallory Park – 2016 series now twenty races
RKB-F1 Motorsport announced this week that there will be an additional round of two races added to the 2016 calendar. The picturesque and historic Mallory Park will be the venue and the date is confirmed as the 30/31st July. The event is to coincide with the traditional Mallory Bike Bonanza, and the celebration of sixty years of racing at the Leicestershire circuit. Sidecars are to have premier billing, with two twenty-lap races on the Sunday, as well as extensive practice and qualifying sessions. Also expect to see historic and classic sidecars parade round the track at regular intervals.
Mallory has a long tradition with three wheeled action over its sixty years, and is very popular with sidecar teams. It has an un-spoiled and nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of its club-racing roots and is universally recognised as a challenging, yet fun place to race. The 1.4 mile circuit guarantees close action with a lap time sub-fifty seconds, and spectators can watch virtually all the action from a natural grass embankment. Former sidecar TT winner and Grand Prix sidecar champion Chris Vincent was a regular at the circuit, having a motorcycle shop just down the road in Earl Shilton. There will also be have machines from this golden era of sidecar racing both on display and moving at Mallory.
Free entries and a wide circulation of invitations will provide a packed grid, and a mix of outfits in addition to all the Hyundai regulars. Series promoter Roger Body explained his rationale. “It was always thought we should have twenty races on our calendar, and with us not being included in the Silverstone BSB opener, we were effectively two races down. The Mallory Park venture is an ideal solution, and we have a good relationship with Stuart Hicken. He recognises the value in having the UK’s premier sidecar championship on this momentous weekend for them, and we are delighted to have been given the opportunity”.
Five times World Champion Tim Reeves with his French passenger Gregory Cluze is expected to head the line-up and will be locking horns with the reigning British Champions Ricky Stevens and Ryan Charlwood in their continuing championship battle. (edit by SE, at the moment Tim has said he has a prior engagement elsewhere)
Joining the fray will also be a determined Santander Salt’s Andy Peach who is another who has his eyes firmly set on the 2016 title, and former British Superbike star Chris Walker who took three BSB victories and won the prestigious Race of the Year at Mallory Park no fewer than three times. He is eagerly anticipating the Mallory round, as his progress since joining the sidecar paddock has exceeded even his own short-term expectations. He has got to grips with the sidecar in a manner which has astonished the entire paddock. Chris is very enthusiastic about returning to Mallory Park. “It will be very special to be back on the circuit where I had my very first race, and also my maiden victory. I really hope three wheels will be as lucky for me at Mallory as two have been”.
There will be no live TV broadcasting, although the usual half-hour highlights show will be produced for Motors TV to be screened the following week. The action is certain to be dramatic. Very few circuits deliver the closely fought racing so often witnessed at Mallory Park.

i didnt read it thoroughly, its not with BSB so probably wont be using that chicane and its a shame it clashes with the FSRA meeting at Cadwell

Its the meeting that was always previously known has the Festival of 1000 bikes then the VMCC dropped it and Mallory circuit took it on and renamed it the Mallory Bike Bonanza they usually have parades for road bikes on the Saturday and parades for Race bikes Sunday,
