I do not have the results, but I think that Mike Staiano won the last ever sidecar race that day on the old Croft circuit.

The last bike meeting was in August 81 I think Howard and the sidecar race was won by Steve Abbott. The big solos were won by Graham Wood or Ron Haslam. Unless they had a another meeting after that one ?

Hi Geoff, just spoken to Mick Staiano, he and passenger Pete Willis did in fact win the last ever sidecar race at the old Croft circuit.
Lenny Pallister and Ian Marriner were second, Lenny still holds this against Mike today  the meeting was held at the end of the season.

If all else fails Mick , might be worth trying the VMCC in Burton on Trent......A search confirms they hold 1981 MCN / M/C Weekly , presumably complete year , but not available to loan , copying could be possible ;) Might be worth a phone call to confirm ;)

I remember Roger Oliver, he was a very good solo rider. I think he raced a TZ Yamaha with a lot of success.

Hi Roger i think the last meeting was a bit later than 12 August 1981 i remember it was a nice day. Keith Walker was next to use and lent use a clutch basket for the TZ. I think the meeting was run by the NEMCC. IN 1981
