Overnight rain left a somewhat damp track at the more than grippy Liverpool circuit which also happens to be the loop used by the TV guys when videoing the Grand National Horse race once it crosses the famous Melling Road.
A rather gloomy sky was the order of the day when I got there just before 8am which gave me time to have a look round in the hope of catching some of the crews who use this meeting as a bit of a shake down before the Isle of Man TT in a couple of weeks time.
I was more than surprised to find a number of potential podium finishers in attendance along with other crews who are still learning how to treat the Mountain circuit.
