Baker F1 help/info required

Unread post by ryan94 »

Hi

Just bought a sidecar and going to start rebuilding.
I believe it to be a Baker F1 with 4xv R1s.

Before I start anyone know anything about these (will ofcourse speak to Tony at some point), anyone know any of the history of the bike (possibly belonged to Karl Mumford?) anything I should about these before taking apart.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

I can't help with the history as I'm new to sidecars myself. With my limited experience I'd agree that its a Baker, I have an F1 Baker (an earlier front engined one) that I'm restoring at the moment, and the swingarm construction looks similar.

Before taking it apart, take loads of photos from different angles , and label up wiring and lines so you know how it goes back together.

Make sure you have a copy of the rules that you'll need to conform to, older outfits that have been sat in garages may be out of date on some minor things.
