Along trip for most but well worth it great hosts are the Melville club. As some probably know the meeting was sadly affected by the tragic loss of a fellow solo racer which caused the Saturday program to be abandoned and with the record amount of sidecar entries the Sunday program was rearranged giving us two races for our championship. We had seven registered teams and two eligible but unregistered teams Tony Wheatley’s TZ750 with his eighty one year’s young passenger Ron Hardy and John Chandler with Joe Heys 600 Thundercat joining us.
Race I
Wheatley’s TZ finish second on the road but not being part of the championship due to eligibility rules Burns 900 Honda first, Tibbles second Capewell third. Hodgson over night engine change pays as he takes fourth followed by Sutcliffe after he had spent all Friday night fitting his repaired engine.
Race 2
The TZ is missing due to ignition problems Sims is back on form to take the win after chain failure in the first race from Burns second. Capewell having her second third, Hodgson fourth, Tibbles finishing fifth with Sutcliffe and Walford.
