2021 A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Championship To Begin As Planned
As things stand at this moment in time, the 2021 A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship will begin as planned on the Indy Circuit at Brands Hatch, hosted by N.G.R.R.C. on the weekend of the 17th and 18th April. Testing at the circuit on Friday 16th April is also going ahead. Yesterday (25/02/21), a virtual A.C.U. Road Race Committee took place; and subject to any changing Covid-19 regulations, overnight stays will be allowed for competitors in the paddock.
Unfortunately, news of round two at Knockhill is not so positive. This event which was to take place over the weekend of the 24th and 25th April is now cancelled, owing to differing restrictions regarding the pandemic in Scotland. With little chance of any major reductions in measures until at least the 26th April, the organising club took the sensible decision to cancel the entire event.
As reported yesterday, the B.H.R. Test Day at Mallory Park on Friday 19th March has been cancelled (see article below). However, E.M.R.A. are intending hosting a test day on Saturday 10th April at Mallory Park. Sidecars will be included (must be members of E.M.R.A.) - however, note that overnight stays will NOT be permitted at this event.
Regulations for Brands Hatch and Donington Park should be available very soon, and will be distributed to registered teams at the first possibility. Any intending "Wild Card" entrants should firstly contact the F2 Series co-ordinator (Pat Hamblin) before submitting an entry.
Finally a reminder - please ensure all drivers and passengers have joined the F.S.R.A. (only members may score points in F.S.R.A. championship events), and any non-racing members are also very welcome to join the club to lend their support. Any further registrations for both the F2 and Pre-Injection series should be sent without delay; and also a quick reminder to renew your A.C.U. licences if you have yet to do so.
We look forward to seeing you all in the paddock at Brands Hatch. Further information will be made available when the regulations are published. Unfortunately, all events will not be open to public admission until at least the 17th May; and there will be precautionary measures / social distancing in place at all events - so please take full note of final instructions and comply with all requests from officials and circuit staff. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel!
