Re: Fuel pressure regulator
Does that mean we have the wrong Facet pump? Is there any markings on them to identify which type is which?

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
The pressure rating in PSI is stamped on the pump.
It's on the flange. Fnarr!

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
This is the one we use.

I wouldn't have thought that the Trident will need a pump any bigger than the Imp.

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
As Mr Simper has so eloquently put it - Amal fuel bowls come with a big hole for gravity feed and a little hole for electric pumped fuel feed, the big hole being too large for the special rubbery tipped needle shut off valve. I have a fuel pressure gauge which travels with me so we can test at Pembrey if required.

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
The MItsubishi pump is from an FZR1000 and works well without a regulator. I have one if you want me to take it to Pembrey.

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
Ok where do these 's[ecial' float bowls come from? and can you tell from looking if they are or not? Crikey what a lot to take in! Am going to look at the pump the weekend and see what is fitted and take it from there. May take you up on that Ian re the gauge. Eddy that is kind and may be an option - not sure yet as cost will come into it. Roll on Pembrey!

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
Just go and get a fuel pump off a modern Jap bike never had any probs with them, but you do need "pump seats" in the float bowls..

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
To clarify that "pump seats" for the nylon float needles, ordinary seats wont hold back the pumped fuel

Re: Fuel pressure regulator
Right I am sure our float bowls and float needles are correct as this problem only began in the last session at Mallory on Wednesday. Prior to this we had covered around 12 laps or so in the previous sessions with no problems. I am sure the fault is with the Sytec regulator and that is why I asked what regulators people are using. I am going to clarify what Facet pump we have and take it from there. Thanks again for the input
