Hi David.

Our series cannot take races from anyone. If ours is an EXTRA race how can it be preventing anyone
riding cos If we didnt hold it NO ONE would be out there.

On the other hand, if points are awarded by us to our members for a race which is open to anyone then we have
no say in who the organisers accept.

How can we be stopping people from being out there when the normal races are still being held ?

Nothing has changed mate

[By the way, the Pirate and your good self still owe me some green paint from Chimay]

Cheers :notworthy:

In reply to Dick Hawes rather patronising reply, what I was concerned about was that some of us have been racing on the Continent since about 1990 and I wish to carry on racing there but I hope that those of us who cannot be part of a team will not be pushed aside for the sake of some of the great and good who can afford to do all of these races.

Yours in Sport

Hi Bob. You are the ideal person to ask. What are the circuits like at Pau and Dijon ?
Are they suitable for us olduns with our trusty charriots ?
How many kilometres is each one from Calais ?

Dick - haven't been to either of those circuits. When you say 'Pau' do you mean the street circuit or the purpose built track at Pau Arnos? Both Pau Arnos and Dijon host classic meetings each season and seem to be very popular with fans and teams.

Calais - Dijon about 530 kms
Calais - Pau about 1100 kms

Calais to our home just south of Bergerac is 930 kms, tales me ten and a half hours driving time in a Renault Kangoo, would be probably more in a race transporter, by the same token Pau is another two and a half hours further south from us.

Could try a PM to Andy Eames on the Forum as he lives near to Pau.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Bob.

It occurs to me that doubling up [one set of transport..two teams]
would be the best way to compete there.

No probs Dick. Like the idea of doubling up but I suspect not possible for many teams.

Bear in mind that fuel is cheaper here, for example diesel at most supermarkets is around €1.33 per litre which equals £1.06 per litre, that's about two thirds of UK price :D

Hi Bob.

Thanks for you input. That is quite a saving....great.

I understand some of the French crews coming over for the Pre TT,

are thinking of using one big truck

Like the big truck scheme of things :D

Let's know if anyone is coming down to Pau and I'll hopefully be there!

The Oulton round clashes with the TT.

o Croix-en-Ternois – France (13/14 April)
o Pre-tt Classic – Isle of Man
o Oulton Park – United Kingdom (30 May/1 June)
o Assen – Holland (12/13/14 July)
o Gedinne - Belgium (24/25 August)
o Oschersleben - Germany tba

I feel famous now (see the rules) 8-)
