Round 5 East Fortune FSRA F350/Post Classic & pre-injection Sidecar Championship 20th & 21st August 2016

What a great meeting not a negative comment from anyone even after teams traveling long distances and the Saturday racing being a day of rain. The Melville motor club provide the friendliest atmosphere in a laid out organised paddock with free electric for all. Thanks to or new championship sponsor Lane building services for providing the trophies and because of this the Melville club reduced our entry fees which benefited all our championship teams financially.
Sidecar racing not being so popular or as well supported as in past years East Fortune has seen recent sidecar races being cancelled. Last year before the Preinjection class was introduced in our FSRA championship only two teams entered this round. But this year ten club entries and seven in our championship produced seventeen on the grid their best showing of sidecars for some time.

Saturday Race 1
Was a wet race only three finishes in our class due to insufficient time to change tyres or leaving the track do to wrong tyre choice. Rob Fisher and Rick Long increased their championship lead with a win. Second were Bruce and son Ashley Moore. Marianne Walford with Kerry Hughes third they may had been two laps down but finish and on slicks with their 600 Thundercat well done.

Saturday Race 2
Again a wet race, Fisher and Moore were first and second myself third. All teams finished with Tony and Neil Wheatley Ireson TZ750 Yamaha fourth, fifth Mark Burns Steve Winfrow long wheel base Baker Suzuki 1100 Ladies sixth and after a couple of visits to the local country side during the race Gerald and son Daniel Hodgson Honda 600 were Seventh.

Sunday Race 1
Dry race all teams restarted eventually after a lap two red flag incident. Rob and Rick were away with the Moore family chasing as per usual until Bruce’s engine says enough and was forced to retire but the Wheatley’s TZ is going at its best for some time and claimed second myself third. Fourth was Burns and Hodgson family fifth but sadly the ladies watching the race after an electrical problem.

Sunday Race two
Insufficient time for the Moore team to change engines they missed the final race first three all the same and all on Yamaha’s, Fisher and Long 600 Thundercat, the Wheatley brothers two stroke TZ750 second myself with Mark Edwards third air cooled FJ1200. Fourth Burns the Ladies fix their electrical problem to grab fifth position and the Hodgson family 600 Honda sixth.

2016 FSRA F350/Post Classic & pre-injection Sidecar Championship positions after Round 5 on the 20th & 21st August East Fortune . Also sorry Gerald your total so far is 62 not 63.
I have attached a copy of the excel sheet I have been using please check and let me know of any errors. I have copies of every race result we have done this year.
