There was a hat-trick of wins for both the F2 and F1 F.S.R.A. / Wintec Racing Pre-Injection Championship leaders at Croft over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd August. Rob Fisher / Sarah Stokoe (600 Baker Yamaha) won all three F2 races with ease, and were the first Pre-Injection outfit home each time overall. Simon Horton / Jordan Forrest (1200 Wintec Suzuki) took the three F1 race wins, bouncing back from their disappointing Sunday last time out at Cadwell Park.

Another faultless display saw Lee Crawford / Scott Hardie (LCR Suzuki) take pole position, a double race win and a lap record, on a weekend which finally landed them the A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Championship – a prize the team has been chasing for seven seasons. The Cadwell Park International Sidecar Revival meeting lived up to all expectations with close and exciting racing throughout the weekend – particularly in the trio of A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship races. Lap records tumbled in both the Super and F2 Cup categories; with two wins going to reigning champions Pete Founds / Jevan Walmsley (LCR Honda), and the other – a superb first outright victory for Harry Payne / Mark Wilkes (GP Yamaha) – who eased to a hat-trick of wins in the F2 Cup.

Birchalls and Ellis/Clement dominate damp Cadwell Park

Molson British Sidecar Championship, Cadwell Park 7/8 August

The celebrated Cadwell Sidecar Revival attracted a full entry of all manner of sidecars, with the main focus being on the three championship races.
Todd Ellis (Santander Salt Yamaha) had his French lady passenger alongside for his second British Championship appearance in as many weeks. Ben and Tom Birchall (Haith Honda) were more than keen to fight for their unbroken record of victories.
Absent from Cadwell Park were Sam and Adam Christie because of Adam’s Thruxton injuries. At this moment in time, the Christie bike will continue to be missing, with the ankle injury to Adam more serious than initially thought. Asked if he might be tempted to use a replacement passenger to protect their points, Sam said the family feeling was, that racing was on hold pending Adam’s recovery. Let’s all hope it is sooner rather than later.

The A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship returns to Cadwell Park’s Sidecar Revival for the second time following their inaugural invitation back in 2019. At that meeting, Pete Founds / Jevan Walmsley proved invincible, taking pole position and a hat-trick of wins, breaking the lap record on each occasion, on their way to an unprecidented fourth consecutive British Championship.

Fast Thruxton and six not out for Birchalls

Round Three, Molson British Sidecar Championship

Cooler and mixed weather provided interesting racing conditions on what is widely acknowledged as one of the toughest tracks in the UK. With no FIM World round clash for the next two domestic championship weekends, there was a strong entry for both this, and the upcoming Cadwell Park Sidecar Revival. Fresh from success in Assen, Todd Ellis, reunited with Charlie Richardson for home rounds on the Santander Salt Yamaha, was determined to pick up where he left off when last on UK business.
