Just wondering if anyone could maybe remember this guy, he was my daughters partners Uncle. He raced sidecars in the 70s, his name was
Roger Williams he lived in Burton
Many Thanks
We also raced against this at Long Marston. This is a triangular curcuit with three long straights and three hard left handlers. Watching this outfit scream along the straights overtaking all of the 650 BSA and 750 Yams was awesome and then when it got to to the turn, popping and banging on the overrun, watching all the outfits it just passed going by because it was basically sideways was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. I have to say however that, even now, I have to bow to the innovators who didn’t just follow the line. This was ultimately never going to work. The weight distribution was terrible, and with enormous horsepower it must have been a serious handful. Kudus to the guys that risked their lives and probably a substantial part of their income in trying to be different. Those were the days.
Yep. I remember my brother and his driver racing against this beast at Mallory Park a long time ago. Their names were Horst Walczak/Graham Hayward. I remember it has a Cosworth engine in it and was very quick in a straight line but because of the weight it was a bitch in corners. Sounded fantastic with that Cosworth at full howl alongside all of the two strokes. Aah memories, memories.
