Scarborough Spring Cup entries

By Dan Clarke

Entry forms for the Spring Cup meeting at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough are now out. The meeting is on 15/16 April with a closing date for entries on 6 March. If there are not enough entries by the closing date the organisers will have no option but to drop the class, which is something they really do not want to have to do.

Oliver’s Mount is a great circuit to race at and being the only real road circuit in Great Britain is a great one to have on your CV, especially if you are planning on doing the TT or S100 at some time in the future.

So come on you slidey teams, get your entries in early and don’t leave it until the last minute as so often has happened in the past and the reason why some clubs dropped the sidecar class at various meetings or even altogether. Lets keep sidecars alive at Oliver’s Mount. Unfortunately national licences are an ACU requirement for all competitors.

2023 TT Regulations, things of note

I haven’t had a chance to read all the way through yet (hardly read it at all to be honest), but there are a couple of points that have been brought up in conversation with Mark and Tim that you may want to look at before heading off to the Island.

Link to download of TT REGS (in case the box below doesn’t appear on your mobile)

If we see any more we will add them on here..

6.2. All main mounting pins/plates such as forward of the steering head must be secured
to the bodywork with a steel plate no smaller that 100mm square. This must be both
riveted and bonded (e.g. fibreglass/resin) to the bodywork in order to render it a
permanent and secure fixing point. For verification purposes all Rivet Heads must be
intact and visible on the outside of the bodywork.

6.3. There must be no fewer than four main mounting pins/pegs secured with “R” clips
dispersed appropriately around the main bodywork. All bodywork fixing pins/pegs
must always be secured with “R” clips or similar.

ACU 2023 Licences

This email is being circulated by acu..

If you’ve been looking to renew or apply for your ACU Licence in readiness for 2023, you’ll have seen that the ACU licence application system isn’t currently available. This is because the ACU are moving to a new membership system and club management platform. This is a huge job and the changeover process has begun so all updates and ACU content will be off line until the 27th November. If everything goes to plan, the new system will be live on 28th November 2022.

From NEMCRC

Cancelled – East Fortune 8/9th October due to lack of solo entries, last minute cancellations, resulting in Nemcrc facing a major financial loss and a poor spectator experience. Thanks to those who did enter and supported the club. Championship results will be as per current standings no cheques have been cashed and these will be destroyed. The club committee has not taken this decision lightly and deemed necessary to protect the financial future of the club.
