We have a new page in top menu, the Directory

Ok it’s not a new page, it’s an old page reborn, being rebuilt. If you have a business that makes bits, sells bits or organises things sidecar related – anything that could be useful and you want it on the page for free,
send me a line here with a logo (if you have one of course)
and a link to your site/facebook/twitter or phone number.

Have a look on the page as it is now, I’m currently slowly working my way through the list adding more content.

FIM Sidecar World Championship 2020 season cancelled due to COVID-19 pressures

2020 season cancelled due to COVID-19 pressures

It is with heavy hearts and a deep sense of regret that in conjunction with the FIM, the decision has been taken to abort the planned five-round series for the current year.

Despite all our best efforts early in the year negotiating dates and facilitating an on-line entry system, the ever-changing situation between countries, and the various lock-down measures implemented as a result, destroyed any confidence teams and organisers had that travel would be possible, or even predictable.

2020 FIM Sidecar World Championship cancelled

From the FIM (thought I should include both releases, this and RKB)

After several attempts to reorganise the 2020 calendar and careful discussions regarding the difficulties caused by the Coronavirus disease (#COVID19) pandemic at the organisational level, the FIM, the promoter RKB-F1/Santander Salt Ltd, the national federations of Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, Portugal and the local organisers have been forced to cancel the 2020 FIM Sidecar World Championship.

Multiple World Champion Tim Reeves enters Snetterton

A very welcome addition to the ranks of round two at Snetterton comes in the form of Tim Reeves. Tim is partnered by twenty-seven-year-old Frenchman Kevin Rousseau.

A rare British series appearance for the eight times World Champion comes at a time when all sport is hungry for action, and the 2020 World Sidecar championship has yet to get started.

Snetterton 300 circuit welcomes round two 21-23 August

Finally, the wait to re-join the BSB paddock is over for the Molson Group British Sidecar Championship. Round two takes us to one of the most popular and sidecar friendly tracks on the BSB tour.

The Snetterton 300 circuit has plenty of wide-open spaces to observe social distancing, and a super-fast race environment which always delivers great on-track action.

With a truncated five round, ten race season now fixed, there will be no room for error. The opener at Cadwell Park is already behind us, with scores firmly on the board for all the top runners.

Two weeks ago, in Lincolnshire, former champions Steve Kershaw, now with new passenger Ryan Charlwood (Santander Salt/Quattro Yamaha), took double victory ahead of his team-mates and reigning champions Todd Ellis and Charlie Richardson (Santander Salt Honda).

Team Christie Racing – Announcement

2020 ANNOUNCEMENT

We’ve made the decision to remove our entry from the World Championship and continue with the remainder of the British Championship.

Not an easy decision to make but it had to be made.
Next weekend we go to Snetterton for Round 2 with BSB, another circuit we’ve not raced at for a few years, looking forward to getting stuck in!

Team Ricky & Jonny withdraw from 2020 season.

It is with a heavy heart that our team has taken the decision to withdraw from the 2020 season, due to unforeseen circumstances in the current environment.

As you are aware, this is a situation that has affected many teams across the world. Unfortunately, it has hit us very hard financially and we have no option other than to withdraw.

We would like to personally thank all of our sponsors and team members for all of your continued support.

Ricky and Jonny

It hurts me to write this, especially after the months and months of preparation that we have put in. Unfortunately this can not be helped…nobody anticipated what was going to happen this year!

Ben and Jed

To all of the teams that can make the grid this year, stay safe and we wish you all a successful season.

Hope to see you all in 2021
